Rooted in tradition
Oberlin Ranch Co. sits on a quiet stretch of land in Myakka City, Florida, shaded by live oaks and Spanish moss. What began as a handful of hens has grown into a small working ranch — but the approach has never changed. Our animals live outdoors, eat well, and are cared for the same way a family farm has always done it: by hand, every day.
We named the ranch for the values it's built on — patience, land, and a belief that food raised close to home simply tastes better.
How the ranch came to be
A small flock, a big idea
The Oberlin family sets up their first coop in Myakka City, Florida, with a dozen laying hens and a plan to share extra eggs with neighbors.
The ducks arrive
A small pond is dug and a flock of Pekin ducks joins the ranch, adding rich, creamy duck eggs to the offering.
Oberlin Ranch Co. is born
Word spreads through the local community. The ranch is formally established, with a mission to keep every animal pasture-raised and every dozen honest.
Growing, one dozen at a time
We still gather eggs by hand each morning and serve our neighbors directly — proof that small-batch, sustainable farming still has a place at the table.
